CLUB MOTORSPORT

The July 19th meeting introduced plans for Motorsport this year and 2018 - we have a unique opportunity in 2017 to showcase the club as well as compete in a low risk CAMS sanctioned event.

Modern Regularity at Mallala is organised by Austin 7 Club /TTMS ( www.tracktimemotorsport.com.au ), usually with 8 rounds held each year, with heats for A,B & C categories.  The entry fee is $140 each round.

➢ At the Modern Regularity event on October 29th, our club will be given all the Group C sessions exclusively, if a minimum grid is guaranteed.  First a practice session of 12 minutes ( about 5 laps ) then five heats averaging 6 laps spread over the day.  The full CAMS / Organising regulations apply for competitors.  Once again experienced drivers and officials around the paddock will help with what, where and when.

The indicative cost for competing would be $600 including entry fee ($140) a 12 month L2S licence ($130) and initial once only costs for - helmet, fire extinguisher, numbers & stickers.

NOTE : You can only be issued a L2S licence by CAMS if you are a member of an affiliated car club. Applications to CAMS online.

To confirm this invitation we require your October 29th entry fee of $140 by time of our next meeting on 20 September - please attend this meeting with your Motorsport or other technical car questions.

**CHANGES TO HISTORIC REGISTRATION SCHEME; as of July 1st there has been changes to the existing Historic Registration Scheme.  The main change is for a rolling 30 year qualification and the other is that modifications from the original specification will now be allowed. The Club Registrar only needs to verify the build date, which is usually on the existing registration paper.  As the car owner, what you need to do, is present that paperwork, a photo of car and the compliance plate at a club meeting on the 3rd Wednesday every month at the A7 Clubrooms, 262 Tapleys Hill Rd. Seaton.  You will need to be a financial member Of the BMWDCSA to get your Log Book for the 90 days use per year.  This will cost approx $90 plus your club membership subscription if you are not an existing member.
